My name is Angel Pittman and I am excited to continue my eighteen years of work with Cooperative Baptist Fellowship as field personnel in my new role as an Educational Advocate.
Born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, I received my Bachelor of Science in Education from Baylor University where I met my true love, Jason. I always knew I would work with students and enjoyed my years of classroom teaching before creating and leading urban out-of-school educational programming. I have served vulnerable children in central Texas, Detroit, and Miami.
I believe partnership is everything. No one creates impact alone. I have supported students through creating successful collaborations with churches, companies, and civic groups locally and nationally. I know what it means to be accountable to promises and I've worked hard to develop and sustain shared goals that benefit children of all ages.
Strategy is essential. You don't get anywhere without a plan. For fifteen years, I helped lead Touching Miami with Love helping grow the organization from serving 50 students to nearly 400 in holistic daily programming in two of Miami-Dade’s most stigmatized communities.
Sharing is caring. I enjoy sharing what I've learned on the topics of educational equity, Biblical justice, racial reconciliation, and motherhood. An avid reader who is always learning, I have a passion for mentoring and have had the privilege of working with young people as well as several impactful adult leaders in ministry.
On the weekends you can find me hanging out with my amazing husband of twenty-five years, my cool sons, crocheting something cute, drinking coffee with friends, or reading.
I have had the privilege to speak on radio shows as well as retreats and conferences, corporate gatherings, civic organizations, and chambers of commerce events. Additionally, I have led cultural training for Teach for America and City Year for several years.
If you are interested in having me as a speaker, workshop leader, or trainer, please contact me.
